Todd and Ashleigh’s wedding will forever be one of my favorite days EVER. Not just because it was an incredible Bluemont Vineyard Virginia wedding with gorgeous details-  but because of the incredible families that came together to celebrate that day.

Before their amazing Bluemont Vineyard Virginia wedding, I first met Todd and Ashleigh last summer when they both made a quick trip to Colorado over Labor Day weekend. Todd was stationed in Washington and Ashleigh in New Mexico. Talk about a long distance relationship!

Todd and Ashleigh met with me in Colorado to shoot their engagement session. It was a beautiful evening and I so enjoyed getting to know them both and their sweet pup, Palmer!

Soon after they received their engagement session image gallery, they asked if I would be interested in photographing their Bluemont Vineyard Virginia wedding:  YES!! I didn’t have to think twice on it! 🙂

Needless to say, I had been looking forward to their Bluemont Vineyard wedding day the entire year and I’m happy to say that it exceeded my expectations in every possible way.

As soon as I arrived to the girls’ ‘getting ready’ location, I was immediately greeted with smiles. The girls were getting their finishing touches of makeup before heading up to the vineyard (which was conveniently just across the road!). Ashleigh was as warm and kind as she had been months prior, and I instantly felt at home with her, her mom, and all her special girls!

We quickly made our way to the venue, Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia to begin photographing all of the pretty details- and let me tell you- there were a lot! It was a dream! The floral designs alone were stunning! (Thanks to Kelley at Event Studio!)

Before I know it, it was time for Ashleigh’s first look with her dad- which was basically the sweetest thing ever. I just love it when the father of the bride tears up at the sight of his daughter. It’s one of the most special moments in a father’s life and will always be a favorite highlight of the day for me!

Next, it was Todd’s turn. Now Todd is not necessarily one to show emotion in front of other people, so it definitely warmed my heart when I saw the look on his face when he saw Ashleigh for the first time. It was awesome.

For a split second he forgot about everyone else and only had eyes for her. It was an honor to document this special time between them.

Like all wedding days do, the time flew by and it was time for the ceremony, family portraits, and first dances. So many highlights in such a short span of time! But when you have a coordinator like Amy Thunell, your day will go off without a hitch!

By the time dinner finished and it was time for dancing, everyone was relaxed and in the mood to let loose. I have to say- this was my favorite part of the day. I’ve never seen so many people get down on the dance floor. It was a riot! I threw myself in the middle of the dance floor and stayed put. There was so much celebration to document, I wasn’t going anywhere else!
(Side note- I’m pretty proud of my Canon Speedlights, as they were firing constantly, all night long!! And bonus- I didn’t even have to put in fresh batteries! What?! 🙂 If you saw how many images I shot during party dancing, you’d totally understand! 🙂

It was such a blast to watch Todd and Ashleigh’s family and friends cut loose on the dance floor. I honestly cannot remember a time where I witnessed so much joy and so much laughter.

Bluemont Vineyard was filled with so much love that night- it makes me smile even now just thinking about it.

After some toasts and cake cutting, the night was quickly wrapping up. I remember thinking to myself- where did nine hours go??

The sparkler exit was the last event of the night, and this usually comes with a lot of anticipation and a lot of ‘I hope nobody lights my hair on fire’ thoughts! 🤣 But it was a success!

Before I knew it, Todd and Ashleigh made their way through the tunnel of sparklers and into the car they went. Their St. Lucian honeymoon was calling!

To sum up Todd and Ashleigh’s day in one word, it would have to be:

WOW.

Wow is the only word that keeps coming to mind when I think about this special day.

It was stunning in every possible way. I can’t even describe, so I’m thankful I have the images to prove it!

Thank you to Todd and Ashleigh’s parents, aunts and uncles, family and dear friends who made this day so special for them. It was perfection!

Congratulations to Todd and Ashleigh. My heart is so full and I’m so happy for you both! 🖤

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT STACY

When my husband, Jeff, and I were planning our wedding, we hired a photographer whose work was beautiful. Fast forward a few months, she ghosted us. Took our money and vanished. Two months before our wedding, I'm panicking, trying to find another photographer who was available on our very popular date- 10/10/10, and whose work didn't completely suck. I was laughed at over the phone by one photographer, whose name I will withhold but will FOREVER remember. He obviously thought my desperation was amusing, but I couldn't see the humor through my enormous tears.

After having already spent our entire photography budget, I was forced to hire the only person who was left available, and for fairly cheap. He definitely over-promised + under-delivered. It was a sad experience, one I never want you to have to go through, which is why I am so passionate about ensuring my couples have the MOST amazing wedding photography experience humanly possible, with me.

If you are looking for a photographer who values YOU and your entire wedding photography experience, I'm your girl.
I will be by your side, making sure you feel totally comfy + content while you're in front of my lens. I promise your wedding day photos will be timeless, beautiful, and everything you've dreamed of.

I honestly can't wait to meet you, so get in touch and let's do this!

If you have found your way to me, it's probably because you've been searching for the right photographer, but none of the others have felt like 'the one'. I get it. I've been there, done that.
